Machine gun-toting robots deployed on DMZ

This interesting article talks about how South Korea has begun to implement and experiment with automated weapons.  South Korea’s SGR-1 armed robots have been set up near Korea’s Demilitarized Zone to supplement soldiers that keep watch.  These automated weapons have the capability to identify and shoot targets from over two miles away.  They require human granted permission to open fire on targets, and cost around $200,000 dollars per unit.
